So today is the big meeting… Following classes I’ll be meeting with the homecoming committee to discuss the second act(s) for the second night of homecoming concert.  An undisclosed act has been confirmed for the first night, but after making an offer to our favored second act we were turned down.  I’m glad because I don’t think the artist was worth what he asked.   That said, I’ve got an agenda to push tomorrow.  I’ve got my sights set on an artist on the verge as the second act.  My only concern is whether or not she can do a full show.  I know who I’d couple this act with if we can cover it monetarily.  I’m going to push it tomorrow.  Janelle Monae and The Cool Kids.  I wonder what they’ll say…

The second first day of classes…

Good times!  Now I’ve been to all of my classes once.  I’m stoked about my schedule for the first time in…ever!!!  Yay!  My copywriting professor is amazing in one word.  She owns a slew of local businesses, chains, and a few online businesses.  She what you’d call a mover and a shaker…and she thinks I’m funny so that’s a plus!

Reading Children’s Literature…this class is going to be everything it sounds like it’s going to be.  My professor is nothing but a large child…not much else to say on that class except there is going to be a really cool multimedia project option at the end.

Abnormal psych…my poor first time professor.  He is so scared to make a mistake.  He’s not very engaging based on the first day…but this class looks to be interesting.

And the routine begins…

The beginning of the end…

Overall, it was the best first day of class I’ve ever had.  It was a Tuesday…perfect, the week is already shorter.  I had only 2 classes, the first began at 2pm.  Awesome!  It was my Women’s Studies course with my mentor from my first-year seminar.  HUGE class as it’s an intro.  She’s just as engaging as she was 3 years ago.

Next comes my African-American Studies class at 3:30.  According to Pick-A-Prof, this professor should be every senior’s dream.  She hardly gives C’s.  The course is Blacks in Film, it’s 3 hours long once a week.  We watch a film in every class…and good ones!  Cooley High, Boyz N The Hood, Devil in a Blue Dress and the list goes on.  I’m pumped.  This lady…Dr. Regester…she’s a hoot.  I laughed all the way through the first class…this is a good note to start on.

The day couldn’t have been better…except for the fact that it started with an issue with my refund check.  Can’t have everything I guess…

Ready for Round Two!

After a tiring and frustrating day I focused my attention on keeping my hands busy.  I decided to build something.  I wanted to rearrange my room to make it more open and I needed something to put my TV on.  So, I bought a desk and assembled it.  I picked up a few other key items along the way, but I am the most proud of my desk.

Car trouble is a pretty vague term…it’s also the chronic status of my car.  This summer I’ve had my cars’ brakes fixed, emissions checked, and oil changed.  After doing all of this to get it prepared for the long trek back to the Hill…I open the door and what falls out of the door?  This giant spring.  The one that makes the door all bouncy and keeps it from killing me when I pull it in.  Is it significant…I dunno.  Time to call Dad…

The final Fall Fest of my collegiate career was as great as the first. I emceed the School of Government stage with my fellow SpringFest coordinators and had a great time. Long night, hard work, but it was awesome! Fall Fest 8.17.08

So it’s about to start all over again…one more week of summer… How did senior year get here already?  I mean…it wasn’t especially fast but I definitely didn’t expect to see it this soon.  It’s almost time to grow up…graduate and start thinking about a job and graduate school.  Time to be an adult.  Wellll…there’s a little more time than that.  Right now…it’s party time!
